Climate Change and Sustainability in the Community

Spring 2022 - 1 Hour

Format and Topics:

This is a discussion-based class with weekly readings (newspaper archives, scientific articles, web resources) designed for students to understand:

  • The geologic history and natural resources of local  communities

  • The history of communities, resource extraction, and economic development on that community

  • The challenges to sustainability (broadly!) faced by this community

Goal:

Students should be able to apply knowledge from this class to a broader context of other communities in the US.
